Descriptive elements
The description corresponds to that of Clairette, except for the skin color of the berries when ripe, which is pink in this case.

Bud burst: 7 days after Chasselas.
Grape maturity: late-season, 4 weeks to 4 weeks and a half after Chasselas.
Suitability for cultivation and agronomic production
Aptitudes are close to those of Clairette.
Susceptibility to diseases and pests
The susceptibilities and tolerances of Clairette rose seem identical to those of Clairette.
Technological potentiality
The bunches are large and the berries are medium in size. White wine-making using this variety produces interesting results in terms of quality. However, the risk of extracting color and having "stained" wines can be detrimental.
Clonal selection in France
The only certified Clairette rose clone carries the number 1003. A conservatory of 20 or so clones was planted in spring 200, in the wine-growing region of Bellegarde (French departement of Gard).
