Descriptive elements
The description corresponds to that of Carignan, except for the color of the berry skin which is green-yellow when ripe.

Bud burst: 10 days after Chasselas.
Grape maturity: late-season, 4 weeks and a half after Chasselas.
Suitability for cultivation and agronomic production
The high and regular fertility of this variety allows it to be pruned short.
Susceptibility to diseases and pests
As Carignan, this variety is particularly susceptible to powdery mildew.
Technological potentiality
The bunches are large and the berries are medium in size. The wines produced have a rather high alcoholic degree and are relatively neutral.

The only certified Carignan blanc clone carries the number 1256.
