Origin
Italia B or 65 Pirovano was obtained in 1911 by Angelo Pirovano by crossbreeding Bicane B with Muscat de Hambourg N.
Synonymy
There is no officially recognized synonym in France nor in other countries in the European Union.

In France, Italia B is officially listed in the "Catalogue of vine varieties".

This vine variety is likewise listed in the Catalogues of other European Union member states: Bulgaria, Spain, Hungary, Italy and Portugal.

Description
Identification signs include:
- the tips of the young shoots have a dense coat of flat-lying hairs,
- the young leaves are yellow and shiny, orbicular adult leaves, 5-lobed, with a U-shaped petiole sinus, open, slightly open or closed; large teeth,  convex sides, absence of anthocyanin coloration of veins; slightly bubbled leaf blade, involute, frizzy on the edges and the underside with a thin cover of flat-lying and upright hairs,  
- elliptical-shaped berries with a slightly muscaté or simple flavor.

Suitability for cultivation and agronomic production
Italia B has very strong vigor and grows semi-erect. This variety must be trained and long-pruned.
Sensitivity to diseases and pests
Italia B is sensitive to downy mildew and grey rot.
Technological potential
The clusters are very large, conical-shaped, moderately compact with large to very large berries. The skins are moderately thick with a firm and juicy pulp with pleasant flavor. Italia B has a good capacity for storage and long distance transportation.
